Below is summary of the subjects of the new degree of “Degree in computer engineering” to deploy from the course 2014/2015.

The Curriculum Degree in Computer Engineering include five modules with a similar proposal in the agreement of the Universities Council on degree courses leading to the exercise of the profession of Engineer in Computer structure, published in the BOE 4 August of 2009.

Modules

This plan is structured on a common base 120 ECTS (modules 1 and 2), in which skills are acquired basic training and common computing, and 3 independent pathways, each leading to the award of a Mention of specific technology: Minor in Software Engineering, Minor in Information Technology and Computer Mention

Mentions

Minor in Software Engineering

This mention as engineers of development, namely, Computer engineering graduates with solid expertise in models and tools for the design and development of software.

Minor in Information Technology

This mention is responsible for the management of large computer systems engineers in its different aspects, Security and information assurance, the evaluation of these systems and data warehouses. Of course it also has a strong component of software development.

Mention in computing

This mention is linked to the double title INdat although may be signed by any student that it wishes to. Its objective is training in techniques of analysis and engineering related to the analysis of data, the extraction of knowledge, machine learning and decision making models. It's get a training essential to the work of computer engineering in areas of Big Data.

With the structure described is intended to achieve the competencies of Basic Training and Common to Computer Science in the first two courses that are common to the three mentions. From the third course, students will choose one of the three possible entries, studying the specific competencies of its mention in the module 3, own profession in the module 5 and choosing the training supplements that you find most attractive among those offered in the module 4. We will then a detailed breakdown of temporality studies dividing the common part and the specific mention of.

Regarding adaptation of students enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering Degree and Computer Systems Engineering existing:

  • Studies the new degree of Computer Engineering will be adapted (need not apply)
  • Students with subjects in 3rd or 4th surpassed the degree in computer science to suit the mention in Software Engineering
  • Students with courses in the 3rd and / or 4th Grade overcome in Computer Systems Engineering will adapt to major in Information Technology
  • The remaining students will choose the mention wanting to enroll subjects in 3rd
  • Students who want to change Mention should apply in writing
