Javier Crespo Guerrero, participates in the European Future Talents Program on behalf of Spain

The "Future Talent Programme 2023" aims to encourage students or young professionals to participate as speakers at the GÉANT annual meeting, the TNC Congress 23 (TERENA Networking Conference, TERENA is the old name of GÉANT), which took place this year its 38th edition in Tirana (Albania) of the 5 to the 9 June – https://tnc23.geant.org/. GÉANT is the grouping of the European National Research and Education Networks (NRENs). In the case of Spain, the GÉANT node is RedIris.

In This congress brings together more than 800 participants from more than 70 countries. In this edition eight students were invited to participate presenting their work, undergraduate and postgraduate. This invitation is the result of a selection process in which those projects that will finally be invited are filtered.. Each GÉANT node, as is the case of RedIris in Spain, You can propose up to a maximum of three participants to the program. Javier was one of those proposed by RedIris and was the only undergraduate student selected in the program.

Javier presented his project entitled "APK Falcon: empowering user's privacy", a service that seeks that users of Android applications can have a better understanding and control of their privacy.

This service is part of the results of the research in Privacy Engineering that is developed in the Department of Computer Science of the University of Valladolid. His work has been supervised by professors Mercedes Martínez González and Amador Aparicio de la Fuente, both members of the IT department.

Javier is a student of the Double Degree in Computer Engineering and Degree in Statistics at the University of Valladolid. The project he has presented at TNC is also his Final Degree Project in Computer Engineering. APK Falcon has been made within the framework of a collaboration with the Department of Computer Science of the University of Valladolid, under the program of Scholarships of Collaboration of Students in University Departments for the academic year 2022-2023, financed by the Secretary of State for Education.
