III Computer Olympiad of Castilla y León

The School of Computer Engineering of the UVa organizes the III Computer Olympiad of Castilla y León (OICyL 2022) to be held on Saturday 4 February's 2023.

The main objective of this Olympiad is to disseminate and promote computer science, and especially computer programming, Among middle and high school students in the region, and classify the winner directly to the Spanish Computer Olympiad.

ESO students will be able to participate in this edition, Intermediate and Baccalaureate Vocational Training enrolled during the course 2022/2023 in any educational center in the region, and who have no more than 20 years the 1 of July 2023.

This contest will consist of a face-to-face and individual test in which participants must solve as many problems as possible in the shortest possible time using a contest platform. The correction of the programs will be done by automatically checking that, for a series of given inputs, the program gets the expected outputs.

 

In the Olympiad you can compete using C++, Java or Python. Those enrolled will be informed of the set of tools they have installed in the laboratories of the School of Computer Engineering so that they can practice with enough time, in case of being face-to-face.

Headquarters and schedule of the Computer Olympiad of Castilla y León

The Olympiad will be held in person in the school of computer science engineering in Valladolid (https://www.inf.uva.es/contacto/#cmo_llegar).

  • Check-in time for participant registration: between 9:00 and 9:30.
  • Contest start time: 10:00
  • Duration of the contest: 3h

Family members will be able to accompany participants until registration and once they go to the computer rooms, Family members must leave the building. Family members will be able to attend the awards ceremony. The awards ceremony is scheduled at 14:00.

In addition, two members of the technical team of the Olympiad have published a repository on GitHub with the solutions and test cases of the problems of the 2nd OICyL:

In the last edition most participants solved at least one or two of the proposed problems. Four participants solved three problems, One of them the third classified (by time). The second classified solved four problems and the winner the 7 Proposed problems. The feedback received from the participants is that they were happy, that they liked the experience and the challenge of solving problems in that way.
