Cognizant Announces Fifth Edition of Lady Tech Scholarships

A Cognizant initiative that was born with the aim of increasing the presence of women in STEM careers and helping them to be an active part of the ICT market. According to UNESCO, the 35% of students enrolled in STEM careers worldwide are women and this percentage falls to 13% in Spain, as revealed by the study "The field of STEM does not attract female talent", of the Social Observatory of the La Caixa Foundation. In addition, The report shows that the situation is complicated in the coming years, for just the 0,7% of adolescents shows interest in pursuing a STEM career. The biggest gap occurs in technology and engineering, where the woman represents the 13% and the 29% of students, respectively.

The Cognizant Lady Tech scholarships are aimed at all those women who are studying computer engineering, telecommunications, mathematics, statistics or double degrees that include some of these degrees in a Spanish university. Starting froml 2 November and until the next 25 of that month, all interested parties can request one of the 20 scholarships in https://careers.cognizant.com/studentandinterns/es/es/home The amount of the scholarship is 500 euros and only applicable to subjects taken in the first call.
