Inauguration of the new course of the STEM TALENT GIRL program in VALLADOLID

The teacher of our School Mercedes Martínez, coordinator of the Equality Network of the UVa in our center, participated in the day 13 from November to 12.00h at the inauguration of a new course of the STEM TALENT GIRL program in VALLADOLID organized by the ASTI Foundation and the Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Junta de Castilla y León. The opening ceremony took place at the Palacio de Congresos Conde Ansúrez (C. Royal of Burgos, s/n, 47011 Valladolid). This course is the V edition STEM TALENT GIRL in Valladolid and more than 120 Students.

STEM TALENT GIRL is an educational project to promote scientific-technological vocations among young women. Its goal is to show them what the professions of the future are., the most demands at the level of employment and that are key for society, discover STEM areas in an innovative and fun way, so that they can see for themselves the latest in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or entrepreneurship by the hand of top-level professional women.

In this program a group of women volunteers, professionals from different branches of science and technology, mentor groups of girls from different age groups. Our former student María Ruiz, formerly a member of the Equality Network at our centre, participates as a mentor in the program. In addition, through the Professional Association has launched the call for more Computer Engineers in practice of the profession to participate in the program in one of the three levels of mentoring.
