Third edition of the Challenge Contributes

The Initiative Provides starts in 2009 in order to promote the opening of public information and the development of advanced data-driven services. It is promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and the Public Enterprise Entity

Under the slogan “The value of data in digital education”, the 3edition of the Challenge Contributes, of 2020, aims to reward ideas and prototypes that identify new opportunities to capture, analyze and use data intelligence in the development of solutions in the educational field. This edition has selected ten finalist proposals, two of which have been presented by research groups from the University of Valladolid.

One of them is LocalizARTE, presented by the GSIC/EMIC research group with teachers from ETSIT and our School of. This web application pursues learning art history through different educational environments. Allows students to view and perform geotagged tasks on a map. Teachers can propose new tasks, that are added to the public repository, in addition to selecting the tasks that may be most interesting for your students and visualizing the tasks they perform. On the other hand, in the future a mobile version of LocalizARTE will be developed in which to perform the tasks it will be necessary that the user is close to the place where they are geotagged. The open data used in the first version of LocalizARTE comes from the relationship of historical monuments of Castile and León, DBpedia, Wikidata, Casual Learn SPARQL and OpenStreetMap.
