Get The Hour of Code 2016!

Last 14 November opened the registrations for the workshops offered as part of The Hour of Code at our School of Computer Engineering of the University of Valladolid. This is the third edition (see previous) we celebrate. The event is organized by the School in collaboration with the University Group of Computer science GUI, the group Grape::Coders and the participation of staff of the School, the Department of Computer science and the Department of Statistics and Operational Research.

The event is part of the initiative by Computer Science Education Week promoted internationally by the organization Code.org. The site of reference at the global level of the initiative is to HourOfCode.com

Our special event will consist of a group of workshops of initiation to this programming language that sounds like but you've never seen what's going on or have not had time to try it out. Following the initiation, will be offered a few programming workshops more advanced.

To participate in the workshops of introduction to programming languages you need to know how to program in one or more languages. It offers an introduction to:

  • C
  • Go
  • JavaScript (JS)
  • Php
  • Python
  • R
  • Ruby

To participate in the advanced workshop you must know how to program in the primary language to use in the workshop or have pointed to the workshop of introduction to this language. Workshops are offered in advanced:

  • Concurrence with Go
  • Collection and Processing of data from the Web with python, SQLAlchemy and Beautiful Soap
  • Web and mobile applications independent of platform Angular, Node JS and bootstrap.

I write down the date! The Hour of Code will take place on Wednesday 30 of November from the 12:00 in the Sala Hedy Lamarr, Building Technologies of the Information and Communications, Campus Miguel Delibes.

The students of the School of Computer Engineering, will participate under the program The Wednesday talks so that will be a recognition of 1 time in the program to participate in a workshop introduction to a language and with a recognition of 3 hours to participate in an advanced workshop.

The workshops have a maximum possible of attendees and a minimum to be held. The registration is carried out online subject to confirmation by the organizers. If the workshop exceeds the limit, priority will be given to members of the Grape (students, PAS, PDI) by order of registration. You will be notified by mail and given the opportunity to enroll in another workshop. Also if the shop finally has not reached the minimum enrollment not be held which will be notified and also given the opportunity to enroll in another.

For these two reasons, if you intend to participate, hurry in to sign up not to miss the opportunity to attend the workshop of your choice because they fill or because they remove the offer. We close registration on Monday 28 November at noon.
